According to her biography, Aram Han Sifuentes's “tools are a needle and thread, and her medium is time and labor.” Aram Han Sifuentes is currently an instructor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her textile images are often based upon her family’s experiences as immigrants, and look at political issues such as labour. Her designs are normally hand-sewn and use what she describes as a “linear, gestural, repetitive, rhythmic, and slow” progression. Her work has been shown at numerous national and international exhibitions. In her multi-faceted practice, she also writes and curates. She was the 2013 Windgate Museum Intern at the Smithsonian's Archive of American Art. She was also a 2012 - 2013 Curatorial Fellow at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
