The aim of the Clothworkers' Centre is to provide access to the Museum’s collection of textiles and fashion, while storing the items in the best possible manner. These includes many items of decorative needlework dating from at least the medieval period onwards. Some of the items take the form of individual pieces, household items or garments, others are part of complex outfits and furnishings (such as the furnishings used to decorate a tester bed).
