The full title of this institute is 'The Clothworkers’ Centre for the Study and Conservation of Textiles and Fashion'. It is located at Blythe House in West London. The Centre was opened on 8th October 2013 by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and is financially supported by the Clothworkers Foundation, London.

The aim of the Clothworkers' Centre is to provide access to the Museum’s collection of textiles and fashion, while storing the items in the best possible manner. These includes many items of decorative needlework dating from at least the medieval period onwards. Some of the items take the form of individual pieces, household items or garments, others are part of complex outfits and furnishings (such as the furnishings used to decorate a tester bed).
