The objects included in the museum's collection include a pair of Oriental slippers (NT 1180732.1), allegedly owned by Tipu Sultan (1750-1799). The slippers are made of leather soles with canvas and red velvet uppers. The uppers are densely ornamented with so-called salma sitara work, carried out in gold and silver wire, with spangles and glass beads.
