The magazine was devoted to the study of needlework and was edited by Mrs. Christie and published by James Pearsall & Co. (a thread manufacturer). Its official name had the subtitle: A magazine devoted to the study of fine needlework, treating of stitches, of pattern making, of embroidery in the past and all other subjects of interest to those who would ply daintily the needle and thread.
Only six issues of the magazine were published before it was forced to stop following the outbreak of the First World War (1914-1918).
