Parasole, Elisabetta Catanea (1565-1625)

Elisabetta Catanea Parasole was a female Italian lace and embroidery designer who lived in Rome. She was married to Leonardo Norsini, a wood engraver (who adopted his wife's surname after marriage).

Elisabetta Parasole published Specchio dell virtuose donne ('The Mirror of Expert Women'), in Venice in 1594, as well as Pretiosa gemma delle virtuose donne ('A Fine Jewel for Expert Women', Rome 1598) and La corona della nobili et virtuose donne ('Crowning Glory for Distinguished and Expert Women', Rome 1601).
