Francis Henry Newbery (1855-1946) was a British designer, painter and educationalist, who worked at the Glasgow School of Art, Scotland. Between 1885 to 1917 he was the headmaster of the School.

During his tenureship at the Glasgow School of Art, he introduced embroidery into the range of studies on offer. He was married to Jessie Newbery (née Rowat), a well-known embroideress, who became the director of the Embroidery Department at the Glasgow School of Art between 1894 to 1908. When he retired in 1917, he and his wife moved to Devon, where Francis Newbery originally came from.
