One colour is used for small, evenly spaced and vertical stitches worked along regular lines. The second thread is used for weaving through opposing stitches along the first and second horizontal lines of stitches, without piercing the ground material. By weaving the second thread again through the second and third line of stitches, a trellis work pattern is created.
The cloud filling stitch is also known as the Mexican stitch.
