Pollaiolo, Antonio, 1429/33-1498

Antonio Pollaiolo was a fifteenth century Italian engraver, goldsmith, painter and sculptor, who is mentioned by the writer and artist Vasali (click here).

The Museo dell'Opera del Duomo (Cathedral of St Maria de Fiori; the 'Duomo') in Florence houses a large number of embroidered panels, previously part of ecclesiastical vestments and altar cloths, and worked by Flemish, French and Florentine craftsmen, which are based on designs by Antonio Pollaiolo.
